Ledger.com/start - Ledger Live Management Platform
After completing your Ledger wallet setup via Ledger.com/start, you'll use Ledger Live as your management platform. Ledger Live is the official application that connects your hardware wallet to the digital asset ecosystem, enabling secure buying, selling, staking, and transaction management.
What is Ledger Live?
Ledger Live is a desktop and mobile application that works seamlessly with your Ledger device. After Ledger.com/start setup, Ledger Live becomes the interface for all your cryptocurrency transactions while your hardware wallet maintains control of your private keys.

Getting Started with Ledger Live
Step 1: Download & Install Ledger Live is automatically installed during Ledger.com/start. If reinstalling, download from the official Ledger website only.
Step 2: Connect Your Device Connect your Ledger device via USB and launch Ledger Live. The app automatically detects your device.
Step 3: Verify Your Setup Ledger Live displays your device information and security status. Verify everything looks correct before proceeding.
Adding Crypto Accounts
Once your Ledger device is connected through Ledger Live after Ledger.com/start setup:
- Click "Add Account"
- Select your cryptocurrency (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.)
- Choose the derivation path (use default for most users)
- Name your account for easy identification
- Your address is generated securely on your device

Sending Transactions Securely
Why Ledger.com/start Setup is Important for Sending:
- Open Ledger Live with device connected
- Select the account to send from
- Enter recipient address and amount
- Verify details on your Ledger device screen
- Physically approve on device (press buttons)
- Transaction is signed securely and broadcast
Your private keys NEVER leave the device - all signing happens locally.
Receiving Cryptocurrencies
To Receive Funds via Ledger Live:
- Connect Ledger device to computer/mobile
- Open Ledger Live
- Select the account to receive into
- Click "Receive"
- Verify the address on your device screen
- Share your address with the sender
Security Note: Always verify receiving addresses on your Ledger device screen to prevent phishing attacks that could direct funds to wrong addresses.
